If you’re itching for a vacation, there’s no time like the present to take off on an adventure. With summer in full swing, now is the perfect time to jet off to Europe. We rounded up some of the cheapest vacations in Europe so that you can feel free to explore without breaking the bank. Continue on for the list but beware of wanderlust.
Ukraine
Explore Kyiv’s Pechersk Lavra, a monastery and cave system in the heart of Ukraine’s capital city. Or you can always walk over to St. Sophia’s Cathedral to marvel at the architecture and explore Independence Square. There are so many things to do in Ukraine with hotels starting at prices as low as $24/night. Now that’s a real bargain!
Turkey
Turkey’s capital city, Istanbul, will only set you back $50/night for some really impressive accommodations. You can set out and explore the iconic Blue Mosque as well as any number of historical palaces. Otherwise, enjoy a stroll around your typical European town square with a trip to Sultanahmet Square, the once sporting and social centre of Constantinople, capital of the Byzantine Empire. Bulgaria
With hotels starting at $30/night, staying in Bulgaria won’t cost you an entire month’s paycheck just to spend a week. You can explore the city’s capital, Sofia, or walk through the streets of Plovdiv before heading off to some more of Europe’s cheapest countries. Maybe even take a dip on the Black Sea Coastal city of Burgas and get your tan on this summer.
Czech Republic
With cities to explore like Prague, the Czech Republic is a great place to jet off to for the summer. Replete with history and stunning architecture, you won’t be missing the expensive tourism that other European cities will cost you. A night in the heart of Prague can go for as little as $60/night. Not to mention that food and souvenirs will cost you so much less.
Poland
Poland’s capital, Warsaw, has hotels that start as low as $60/night so you’ll be able to explore all the culture and history that Poland has to offer. Take a stroll through Warsaw’s Old Town Square or Lazienki Park and soak in the architectural wonders without breaking the bank.
Romania
You can stay in the heart of Bucharest for as low as $70/night, and that’s while keeping it pretty luxurious. If you’re looking to stay outside of the city centres, then opt to roam the famous forested region of Transylvania and see if you can spot Dracula at Bran Castle. Either way, there’s lots to see in Romania.

Hungary
Hungary’s capital city of Budapest is both a beautiful tourist attraction and cheap vacation spot. With hotels in the city centre as low as $65/night, Hungary makes for a great budget vacation spot in Europe.
Latvia
Roam outside of Latvia’s capital, Riga, and visit the Rundāle Palace to soak in the baroque-style architectural phenomenon. Hotels in the capital city will cost you as little as $50/night. Some of the hotels nearer to the Rundāle Palace estimate about the same price/night so your city stay is just as cheap.
Slovakia
Slovakia has a number of castles, cathedrals, and town square’s to stroll through. A stay in the capital city of Bratislava will cost you a little more, at a higher price of $170/night. Regardless, Slovakia’s food and shops won’t set you back as much as the most touristy spots in Europe.
Croatia
With a number of beautiful cities like Zagreb, Dubrovnik, and Split, Croatia has so much to offer. Hotels in this stunning Mediterranean country will cost you anywhere from $27/night to $300/night depending on when and where you stay.
