There’s fancy dinner parties and then there are the fancy dinner parties that are so top-secret that the venue’s only revealed right before the event starts. Yep, I am of course referring to the Diner en Blanc aka the culinary event where everyone comes dressed in all-white. Just casual dinner party things, right?

So where did the event ultimately end up taking place? It was at none other than Ontario Place. Guests were picked up from different transportation locations, based on their mode of preference. In addition to the food, the sold out event featured a VIP cocktail reception, live entertainment with a DJ, and dancing, before the party ended with sparklers.
The menu
The highlight of the culinary portion this year was that the menu came from Alo (with chef Patrick Kriss at the helm) and Food Dudes, which is a catering company but also behind several restaurants across the city, including Valerie up top of Hotel X, and many more. But this was just one of the two available experiences. The other one that attendees could have opted for was a market style dining, which included prepackaged dishes.

There was an activation by La Bonne Fille. The luxury tea company brought in a giant-sized tea cup, while offering different samples for the diners as well. As well as a wildly popular winter ski-left themed photo booth by the Canadian outerwear brand, Nobis…that had a line nearing the end of the night that went on for hours!
The onus fell on the guests to come equipped with their own dinnerware, tables, chairs, and anything else they would need for the meal–and they did not disapoint, wowzers! Selfie booths were scattered all across the event space as well, so there were plenty of chances to take a snap for the ‘gram.
As is the custom, sparklers served as a source to keep the party lit after sunset, before wrapping up at night. All in great company, with an extensive list of VIP guests.
