Step into the world of photographer O’shane Howard’s captivating exhibition, “NYAM,” an extension of his renowned series, “YAAD.” Currently on display at the Art Gallery of Ontario, as part of the Feels Like Home exhibition, Howard’s work offers a lovely visual journey. Curated by Ashley McKenzie-Barnes, “NYAM,” which means ‘eat’ in Jamaican patois, explores the vibrant and flavorful influence of Jamaican cuisine through the lens of photography.
Set against the inviting backdrop of Michelin star Chubby’s Jamaican Kitchen, this series exudes a celebration of Jamaican dining, showcasing the lifestyle and cherished traditions of the island’s rich culture. Presented by Wray & Nephew, this exhibition showcases the colourful essence of Jamaican cuisine.
