Spring’s in full swing, with summer just around the corner…and it’s starting to feel like it’s going to be a busy summer. If last Thursday dictates anything on how busy it’s actually going to get…it’s going to be a hell of a summer. With a slew of competing events that popped up right across the city. From PRIDE parties, to activations, launches, patio openings and more. But this one Patron El Cielo launch party definitely stood out amoungst the crowd, literally and figuratively! Lighting up the waterfront sky with logos down by the beaches, to a room filled with the movers and shakers looking great, to say the least. People came from near and far to celebrate, and we don’t blame them–it was definitely worth it!

The party was hosted at the Hearn Generating Station (down by the beaches) a decommissioned electrical generating station. The last major event we can recall hosted there shortly after it was decommissioned about a decade ago for the Luminato Festival. Splashed with the Patron branding across it including a projection on the top part of the building, which made it very easy to spot the location at a distance at night. Along with that was several platform dancers, a lineup of DJs, fireworks, aerial silk performers, photo booths, step and repeats, what seemed like an endless supply of Patron El Cielo silver tequila, and more.

The star of the night: Patron El Cielo
Celebrating the official Canadian launch of Patron El Cielo, their new first-of-it’s-kind, 4x distilled silver tequila. Which we were lucky enough to get a sneak taste of a couple weeks ago and were blown away. Think clean and light, because it’s a silver tequila but super smooth, without the burn (much like an aged anejo or reposado), and with a hint of natural vanilla flavour without any additives, solely brought out by the distillation process. Sounds almost too good to be true, right? Thankfully, it’s not and now available at the LCBO.

The who’s who, and best dressed, in attendance
With over 1000 of Toronto’s most influential in attendance, the event also included the likes of Toronto-native filmmaker Julien Christian Lutz (also known as Director X), Toronto Raptor Precious Achiuwa and gold medalist Penny Oleksiak.

Amongst others were actors Shamier Anderson, Jabari Banks, and Lamorne Morris, pro ball player Andrew Nicholson, entrepreneur Corey Shapiro, and international DJs Chantel Jeffries (spinning at the event) and Lissa Monet (in attendance).

That said, the event also saw the presence of many other local VIPs including the cream of the crop of Toronto creators, socialites, media personalities (myself included) and more, including The 6ix mom Andrea Bolley (dubbed by Drake himself), radio host Jamar J. Niice, several Big Brother Canada alumni, director and photographer Justin Wu and celebrity entertainer/author Sebastien Centner, just to name a few.
