The highly anticipated Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) for 2023 has officially started, and it’s safe to say that the city is buzzing with excitement. TIFF Festival Street
Enjoy free musical performances and movie screenings at TIFF’s Festival Street until September 10. This also includes a selection of activations like Art Market, BlackOwnedTO Vendors, Festival Letter Sculpture and more. It’s all happening on King Street from Peter Street to University Avenue. Oh, and did I mention there’s a free Nickelback concert today as well? ; )
TIFF Next Wave Block Party
The event, presented by Snapchat, is happening on September 9. There’ll be performances from The Aubreys (featuring Finn Wolfhard), Alex Porat, and Sho Madjozi.

Festival Street Mural Project
The work will be created by street artists Darcy Obokata and Tim Fukakusa, and the art mural is a tribute to Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli.
Grab a late-night bite

Different bars and culinary spots have special offerings just for the TIFF season. Writers Room at Park Hyatt Toronto has a menu with four autumn-inspired cocktails and three featured wines. EPOCH Bar & Kitchen Terrace also has an exclusive TIFF menu for the festival.

This is part of an activation from Myseum of Toronto, which invites visitors to answer 36 questions about their connection to the city, favourite parts, and more. This is also happening during Festival Street.

When the stars show up to The 6ix for the festival, there are a few go-to choices for most. This includes destinations like Shangri-La Toronto, The St. Regis Toronto, Hotel Bisha, and the works. The Big Pitch at TIFF presented by CTMG
CaribbeanTales Media Group (CTMG) and TIFF are putting together The BIG Pitch on September 10 at the TIFF Bell Lightbox Luma Lounge from 8:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Tickets for the event, which has BIPOC filmmakers sharing ideas and pitches, can be purchased via Eventbrite.
