Chotto Matte has officially opened in Toronto

Chotto Matte is excited to announce that they have opened their doors to their much-anticipated restaurant! Debuting for the first time in Canada, this restaurant offers amazing Nikkei cuisine that combines Japanese and Peruvian cultures. This new hotspot is located in the heart of Toronto’s Financial district at 161 Bay Street. 

Chotto Matte strives to offer Torontonians a dynamic, complex and fashionable experience through their cuisine, unique daily promotions, signature cocktails, and stunning interior. Dubbed as “Miami’s most visually stunning new restaurant,” Chotto Matte Toronto aims to bring the same vibe and experience to Canada.

Zurt Zdesar, the founder of Chotto Matte amongst other notable restaurants, has been incredibly successful and we are definitely excited for his addition to the Toronto restaurant scene.

The Eats

Nikkei cuisine is an evolution of Japanese-Peruvian fare that explores a multitude of colours and flavours that create intriguing and unique dishes. With attention to natural ingredients and carefully sourced produce, Chotto Matte offers only the best. Their Executive Chef Jordan Sclare is a talented culinary artist that is well-known for working closely with Gordon Ramsay. He also works at a 3 Michelin-star restaurant in London. Sclare currently serves in multiple restaurants around the world and has now added Chotto Matte Toronto to his list. With multiple menus, everyone from vegetarian to carnivore can enjoy a luxurious evening with some of the most vibrant and colourful dishes that reflect the city of Toronto. The meals range from $30+ to $90+.

The Looks

The large and stunning interior is playful and vibrant to match the bold and flavourful dishes. The design of Chotto Matte Toronto plays off the vibe of underground Tokyo and mixes with inner urban Toronto. Designed by internationally celebrated artists from Andy Martin Architecture (AMA), this space combines modern and traditional aesthetics. With the ability to seat around 425 people, this spot offers a sushi bar, a Robata Grill, and a spacious summer terrace. Enjoy an energetic and stunning experience surrounded by expansive artwork and murals. 

The Drinks

Guests can also enjoy amazing daily promotions and the first-ever AkACHAN cocktail lounge that has lively music and nightly DJ’s. With a wide list of special cocktails, happy hours, and Ladies Nights, Chotto Matte offers an experience to remember!
