‘Tis the season of Holiday Hosting, so we thought we would help you think outside box and explore a commonly overlooked cocktail base, Bourbon.
Bourbon, made from mash that’s 51% corn, offers notes of caramel, adding yuletide cheer to any glass on the rocks or in traditional cocktails.
Here’s how to whip one up.

How to Make a Le Ballet D’or Cocktail?
Ingredients:
1 oz Basil Hayden’s Bourbon
1/4 oz Calvados
1/4 oz Countreau
1 rinse Herbsaint/Absinthe
2 dashes Orange Bitters
Garnish:
1 Orange Zest
Glassware:
A vintage coup, or similar.
Directions:
Rinse classic coupe glass or martini glass with Herbsaint/Absinthe/Pernod and leave stand. Combine rest of ingredients in stirring glass and stir for about 30 seconds. Strain into coupe and serve straight up with expressed orange oil and zest for garnish.
