There’s good news for Toronto’s West-enders as one of our city’s best is headed over to Sherway Gardens on February 18th! JOEY Restaurants, helming from Canada’s West Coast, is on the move again after opening next to the Eaton Centre a few years back. The kicker for JOEY Sherway though is it will have an open concept and an art deco industrial flare to reflect the mid-century architecture seen throughout cities like California, where JOEY opened their first Los Angeles location last December.
The open concept of the restaurant is reflected throughout including a large open kitchen so that guests can experience the craftsmanship and quality put into the menu. From watching sushi chefs in action to seeing chefs make the made-to-order ice cream using liquid nitrogen, the entire space is meant to be an exciting experience to tantalize the guests’ senses.
Designer Carol Kelley gave the space a subtle nod to days gone by through accents like exposed railway trusses above the bar, an antique French Brillie station clock, and the 1972 vintage artwork in the lounge.

While the design may be a wave to history, the food and service are modern and JOEY prides itself in making the experience excitingly delicious while also ensuring efficient service.
New on the menu is the restaurant’s new app JOEY Pay. “When designing and planning for this location we wanted to really understand guests’ needs and wants and incorporate that into the experience,” said Britt Innes, VP of Marketing for JOEY. “We know lunch can be hard for individuals with time constraints. By offering a mobile payment option guests can dine and dash while still having the ability to sit down and enjoy lunch.” Once downloaded, the app will allow guests in a hurry to speed up bill payment. Cool, right?
