Hipmunk Flight & Hotel Search is not unlike other travel helpers such as Expedia, Kayak, or Skyscanner, except for the fact that it takes the cool factor into account. Your flight searches won’t be strictly sorted by price, but rather by “agony” – allowing you to reduce the flight duration, number of layovers and cost. You can display your hotel results on an interactive map that allows you to read TripAdvisor reviews. Turn on “heatmaps” to narrow down the area that’s best for you based on personal interests such as food, landmarks, nightlife, and the nearest Gypsy Brides Market… if you’re into that kinda thing.

Kind of like Snapchat soft, Secret Pitctures for BBM allows curious or adventurous individuals to send secure, self-destructing (as in not-permanent, but not discounting reputation-altering) photos over BBM. Choose your shot, set the length of time it can be viewed and who to send it to. Unlike Snapchat, there are encryption codes that disable the screenshot capabilities of the recipients phone. (What?! They could do that?) There’s also a countdown timer on the other end so viewers know how long they’ve got to take that lasting mental picture. The caveat, however, is that they too must have downloaded the app.
