It’s the most wonderful time of the year. The annual summer institution and deep fried destination that is the CNE has finally unveiled this year’s food offerings. While the items announced earlier in the day, including sea salt Nutella fries and peanut butter bacon milkshakes, sound tempting enough to try, we decided to do a little more harassing and found what we think will be this year’s piece de resistance…
From the people who brought the Krispy Kreme burger to the city’s collective consciousness last year, Epic Burgers and Waffles, comes this year’s show (and maybe heart) stopping burger, The Cronut Burger. That’s right ladies and gentlemen, the hybrid pastry that sent New Yorkers into sugar-induced hysteria is becoming one with the burger. Canadian Cronut duties are being handled by Le Dolci bakery, making this bakery-burger mashup the thing that is sure to be on all our lips at this year’s CNE.
