The paper is off the windows and Dr. Laffa’s new location at 3023 Bathurst Street is finally open for business! According to their website, the owner’s family made the journey from Iraq to Israel in 1951, opening up the first laffa bakery near the Mahane-Yehuda market. For the downtown crowd, a similar pilgrimage was previously required to feast on their flavourful taboon baked flatbread at their North York location. Though their new shop isn’t exactly in the core, located just south of Lawrence, at least it’s still on the subway line.
