Way back in October, we hinted that The Drake would be opening a new property. While we originally suspected the joint would open in 2016, full details have emerged with a firm opening time in place.

In a recent press release, Drake Hotel Properties revealed the latest addition to its growing brand, the Drake Commissary. The new Junction Triangle spot is scheduled to open spring 2017 on Sterling Rd. Standing at a whopping 8,000-square-feet large, acting as a bakery, bar, larder, and home base for another new project, Drake Catering.

Leading the team is head baker Jonas Grupilionas, who will be baking, fermenting smoking, preserving and pickling for healthy dishes. As for the vibe, the idea for The Drake Commissary is for it to become a “gastronomic town square’ and neighbourhood hub with counter and traditional table service and open sightlines for diners to watch The Drake chefs at work.
The Drake Commissary will run 7 days a week, offering west-enders the option to eat and play at any time of the day. And yes, for those wondering, they’ll also be offering weekend brunch, beers, cocktails, and wine.
As of right now, there’s no confirmed opening date but we will keep you updated as news progresses.
