Are you looking for a fun new colour for Spring/Summer 2013? Is it time to wash away the winter drab and reintroduce yourself to the world?
Once summer rolls around and skin starts to turn a golden brown, it’s a lot easier for brunettes to give blonde, strawberry blonde and ombre locks a go without looking washed out. When you’re going lighter it’s never a good idea to do it yourself – let a qualified professional handle the switch from dark to light, trust me. (Tip: If you’re looking for a great salon in Toronto, try the folks at Brixton Parlour or Evoke Salon.)

If you’re like me, and therefore terrified to change your natural hue because your mother was insane and would never let you dye your hair growing up, then give a hair gloss a try. A hair gloss as opposed to a glaze is a slightly permanent treatment that will add shine and adjust the tone of your natural colour; this is great for taking a more natural take on the ombre trend, which can be a drastic change for some girls.
If you’re really afraid of trying something new you can go the dip dye route, which is super subtle, totally sexy and completely on trend. If you’re a blonde try going ombre and if you’re a brunette give a rich caramel or cooper dip a try – the look is gorgeous without being too drastic.
The pixie cut is all the rage this season. I’m going to take credit here because I did it long before it was cool, and if you’re giving that a shot this summer I suggest doing the cut first and then tackling a new colour; the cut will be a big enough change for you at first, believe me.
Whatever you do ladies, remember hair grows, so don’t be afraid to make a change and try something new this spring.
