Sure, when we were younger, we often tried to mimick our favourite stars, fashion-wise. With age, though, we’ve become more obsessed with using the same skin care lines as the celebs who have the kind of flawless faces that clearly haven’t been over-exposed to the sun or the plastic surgeon’s office. When we read that Kate Hudson was all about the Los Angeles-based skin care line Le Mieux, we had to try it out.
Given that it’s winter up here in not so sunny Toronto, we opted for Le Mieux’s Collagen Peptide Serum in the hopes of locking in serious moisture. Instead of just creating a barrier to seal and retain moisture like many other skin creams on the market, this new serum promised to increase our skin;s moisture levels from within and stimulate collagen production for more toned, firmer looking skin, or as they say in California, “an HD-worthy closeup.” Sure, the serum might sound a little too good to be true, but we used it on our face on one particularly cold subzero Canadian winter morning, and it felt like our skin had just chugged a gallon of coconut water. Our usually dry cheeks even felt hydrated throughout the day, despite jacking up the heat for a staycation in our condo. It’s light enough to wear under makeup as well, so we’re giving this LA-born, Toronto-approved skin saver the thumbs up. Le Mieux might be a harder product to track down, but the baby-soft California girl skin you’ll get from this serum is worth the effort.
