Master of traditional Persian music and oud virtuoso Hossein Behroozinia performs with jazz and contemporary classical inspired Chris Pruden on piano and Scott Peterson on bass, improvisation specialist Peter Lutek on reeds along with Persian classical daf player Arash Najmeddini as part of the Experimental Link Series. The emerging cross-cultural interplay will draw on modal jazz, classical music and Persian Dastgah, with Hossein Behroozinia’s compositions offering a point of departure for collaboration.

Experimental Link Series contemplates the Persian-Canadian experience by reinvigorating, re-exploring and re-imagining Persian traditional music within contemporary and cosmopolitan Toronto by inviting different musicians from the diaspora to collaborate and perform together. The series will explore connections between identity, culture, and musical creation.
