Directed by Darren Aronofsky, The Whale is a psychological drama about an English teacher who lives housebound, isolated by his struggles with obesity and his estranged relationship to his teenage daughter. Emotional, tragic, and at times beautiful and desperate, this is one of Brendan Fraser’s most outstanding performances, winning him an Oscar for Best Actor in 2022.
