JerkFest

Free – $23From August 9th to 12th, JerkFest will offer a blend of Caribbean authenticity and an exciting weekend for families and friends alike. As a leading showcase of Caribbean culture, the festival will ensure guests are able to experience the best of the Caribbean. Right in their own backyards. With musical entertainment that stays true to the Caribbean spirit, the festival is a must-see experience in the city.
The festival will showcase authentic cuisine, cultural arts and crafts. Of course, there will be exciting entertainment to best represent the Caribbean tradition. With music at the backbone of the Caribbean spirit, JerkFest will host a Jamaican musical duo during the weekend festival.
Performers
JerkFest will feature Chaka Demus and Pliers. One of the most iconic duos to impact the history of Jamaican music. With three singles in the Top Five of British music charts, Chaka Demus and Pliers will be a fitting addition to this year’s festival.

“We are very excited for Chaka Demus and Pliers to be joining us at the festival this year,” says Plummer. “The music of the Caribbean is so special and unique and this duo has so much spirit and experience behind them. Their authentic performance will be sure to capture that.”
With their first hit in 1986, Chaka Demus and Pliers are still touring the world today. The duo is also set to soon release their new album.
About JerkFest
JerkFest is an annual event celebrating jerk cuisine and Caribbean culture. It’s organized by not-for-profit organization Caribbean Promotions Arts & Culture Inc. Now in its 17th year, JerkFest has grown to be a staple calendar event in Toronto and draws thousands of visitors each year. JerkFest 2018 will take place from August 9-12 at Centennial Park in Etobicoke.
