The temperatures are starting to dip, the leaves are beginning to fall and I’ve seen more than one girl sporting a pashmina on my morning walk to work. Fall is on its way and while that means we’re gearing up for TIFF and New York Fashion Week it also means that it’s time for a wardrobe shift. But the shift from summer to fall isn’t quite as easy as the winter to spring shift. So how do you make the seasonal change without completely giving in to your favourite cozy winter items?
Pop On A Jacket
There’s no reason to give up on all of you sundresses just because back-to-school season is upon us, pair your flirty summer dresses with classic cover-ups like this denim jacket from GAP. If you prefer an edgier look pair a floral dress with a leather biker jacket like this one from Danier Canada or toughen your look up with this leather jacket.. Maxi dresses don’t have to be summer only items either, try layering a thin sweater over your dress for a stylish fall look. Instead of strappy sandals opt for sleek oxfords or booties your toes won’t be chilly and you’ll be able to put off that pedicure just a little longer.

Keep The Denim
Denim looks great in any season but for fall I like to show a little ankle, it’s my way of fighting against winter just a littler longer. These grey ankle jeans from Express look great with a pair of booties, a basic tee and a Gorjana necklace to top it off. If you’re feeling the chill and on the way into work remember that a cute blazer can class up any look with little to no effort; I love this H&M jacket with mixed fabrics and a tailored fit.
Add A Bold Bag
The best part of any season for me is the switching of the handbags; spring and summer call for big beachy bags and lots of jewel tones but come fall I prefer a more streamlined look and darker colours. This season I’m opting for the London from local designer Nella Bella; the bag is large enough to carry everything I need and the classic enough to look just right on the arm of a white oxford. The versatile design has this bag going from a messenger bag in the day to a cute clutch in the evening.
