January 20, 2021 finally marked the historic day when President Joe Biden was sworn into office, along with Vice President Kamila Harris. While the celebrations were kept small due to the pandemic, there was no shortage of style and fashion as these strong and truly inspiring individuals made their way to the inauguration. While both Jennifer Lopez and Lady Gaga beautifully serenaded the audience with unifying anthems, what has really caught the attention of the public has been the colours and outfits and their underlying messages.
Purple was worn by the majority to represent loyalty and unity, as is what President Joe Biden hopes to get out of his time at office. It is a colour that was worn by many in hopes to represent the unification of Democrats (blue) and Republicans (red), rather than them being two separate groups.
