In case you don’t know, Reddit is a social bookmarking website that is increasingly known as ‘The Front Page of the Internet’. The site really is a proving ground for viral content, so when they take a liking to a celebrity, it can do great things for the star’s public image. Here are 10 of Reddit’s favourite celebs…
Wil Wheaton
You might remember Wil Wheaton as Wesley Crusher from Star Trek: The Next Generation. Reddit likes him not just for his Star Trek cred, he is actually an active participant in the discussions on the site, using the username ‘wil’.
Kate Upton
Considering Reddit’s demographic, it’s not surprising that Kate Upton gets a lot of play on the site. This model/actress/Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition mainstay even has her own section, or subreddit, on the site with nearly 20,000 subscribers.

Zach Braff
The Scrubs and Garden State star has the username ‘zachinoz’ and attracts a flurry of activity anytime he makes a post. His recent Kickstarter snafu, where he controversially crowd-funded over 3 million dollars to make a movie, has done little to dim his star-power on the site.
Bill Nye
Bill Nye the Science Guy. You just sang that, didn’t you? Almost every day there will be a post on the front page titled ‘look who I just met’, showing Bill Nye’s smiling face with some adoring fans (often in the form of a cell-phone selfie). Yes, he still wears the bow tie.
Jennifer Lawrence
Jennifer Lawrence, or J-Law, hasn’t just stolen Hollywood’s heart, she’s also pretty popular on Reddit (which is the true measure of a star’s fame, to be sure). The classy-as-hell star of the Hunger Games, X-Men: First Class, and Silver Linings Playbook has yet to do an ‘Ask Me Anything’ interview on the site, but if she did, Reddit would probably crash from all the traffic.
Patrick Stewart
Aside from being Captain Picard and Professor Xavier, Patrick Stewart has found new life online as a meme. The ‘WTF’ and ‘Facepalm’ memes, containing stills of Stewart from his Star Trek days, are often found on the site’s ‘Adviceanimals’ subsection.

Pope Francis
For a site that has more than its fair share of militant atheists, they sure do love the new pope. It may be because he’s just so gosh-darn nice. His accepting views on homosexuality and shunning of traditional papal extravagance seem to have struck a chord with the progressively minded Redditors.
Alison Brie
Another of Reddit’s celebrity crushes, Alison Brie has nearly 25,000 subscribers to her subreddit (take that, Kate Upton). The Community star has benefited from Reddit’s love for quirky brunettes and her recent appearance at San Diego Comic Con didn’t hurt her online profile either.
Neil Degrasse Tyson
In the same vein as Bill Nye, Neil Degrasse Tyson isn’t exactly a celebrity, but is just about as close as a scientist can get. The popular astrophysicist has a knack for communicating complex scientific ideas in a simple manner. Videos of his seminars and interviews are always popular on the site.
Nicolas Cage
Reddit has an ongoing love affair with Nicolas Cage. For one reason or another, perhaps because his latest movies are so mind-bendingly awful, there is a constant stream of photoshopped images which insert his face into odd pictures. There is even an entire subreddit with 55,000 followers devoted to this meme – calling Cage their ‘one true god’. Reddit is a silly place.
