Doctors be yammering on about you not eating enough fruit? Do they say that you drink too much? Well here are five ways to turn fruit into booze. Whoever said compromise couldn’t be perfect…?
Vodka Watermelon
There are dozens of instructional videos out there, but the essence of what you need to know is this: 1 large watermelon, 1 bottle of vodka, and some patience. Cut a bottle neck sized hole in the watermelon, mount the vodka, give it about 30 minutes for the bottle to empty into the fruit, and leave it at least an hour in the fridge before eating. Storing it overnight is the best method for ultimate absorption, but the absorption in your liver is what really matters in the end.
Note: Don’t put your watermelon in the freezer.

Throw a Sangria Party
It’s common knowledge: The best part of sangria is the fruit. So why not just capitalize on the good stuff? Step 1: Find a large tub. Step 2: Fill it with as much fruit as you want – orange, grapefruit, lime, apple, pineapple, berries the whole shebang. Step 3: Cover about three quarters with a bunch of cheap Spanish wine. Step 4: Elevate the taste (and the alcohol content) with some triple sec, vodka, and additional fruit juices if you so desire until the fruit is fully submerged. Step 5: Cover and let steep for at least 12 to 24 hours. Step 6: Get drunk!
Drunksicles
There are a lot of ways to make a boozy popsicle, but this recipe for honeydew cucumber margarita popsicles is one of the best. The sweetness of the honeydew and the freshness of the cucumber and mint play perfectly with the bite of tequila and lime. Take it outside on a hot summer day and see how many you can eat before they melt, or you pass out.
Soft Serve Boozy Banana Ice Cream
I recently bought a Blendtec blender – best investment ever! Yes, this is the same blender from the infamous and hilarious Will It Blend? YouTube channel. I got the twister jar and have been making awesome ice cream from frozen fruits on the reg. For this one, just take a few frozen bananas, add a touch of nutmeg, maybe some chocolate chips, and add some Wódka Żołądkowa Gorzka, a traditional polish vodka infused with fruit and spices for a decadent dessert. You’ll scream (drunkenly) for this ice cream.

Bootleg It
Okay, so it doesn’t always have to be fresh fruit and it doesn’t always have to be edible. Ever tried making your own homemade hooch? It’s easier than you might think. All you need is a bottle of 100% fruit juice, some Champagne yeast powder, and an airlock. Give it a few days to ferment and you’ll be drunk for the rest of the week.
