You may have noticed that Remy’s, one of Yorkville’s longest-standing bar restaurants, has been under renovation for many months now. Well, anticipation will soon end when the new and improved Remy’s (possibly also acquiring a new name) opens its doors in the next couple of months.
As reported first by Eater, the new Remy’s is being transformed into a three-part venue, including a $2,500/year members-only club. While the original Remy’s web site has been changed to a simple splash page, another web site has popped up, as a teaser to what we can expect will be the new Yorkville destination spot. On this new site, seven movie clips taunt us with a montage showcasing what the new Remy’s will be, in which they also imply the new name will be Montage. We think it’s a pretty cool way to get people chatting. (Read: check it out!)

Designed by the same people behind the bars at Thompson Hotels and Trump Bar, the huge space will be separated into three sections: the ground floor bar and patio serving a “relaxed, casual menu” by chef Sean Simons (formerly of Morton’s and Goods & Provisions), a 180-seat “health conscious” restaurant and juice bar, and a top-floor private lounge and rooftop patio with a $2,500 annual membership fee. The public is only welcome on the first two floors; if you want access to the cool cats chilling on the rooftop you’ll have to pay up.
Will it work? Surely. They are located in Toronto’s most “uppity” neighborhood where people want to see and be seen, and these guys obviously have a vision for the area’s most treasured desires: style, health, and exclusivity.

The main restaurant and patio are scheduled to open later this month, while the private members club is scheduled to open later in September.
