In a youth-obsessed Hollywood, it is always great to see women who are not only aging gracefully but still landing amazing leading roles. This summer’s flicks are chock-full of beautiful ladies over 40, and here are 5 of our favourites who are proving that 40 really is the new 25…
Jennifer Aniston
Jennifer Aniston will be playing a stripper this summer in the comedy We’re the Millers (out August 7th) and it looks hilarious. It’s hard to believe that the blonde-ish beauty is 44 already but, to be fair, Friends did start almost 20 years ago (are you as depressed reading that as we are writing it?). Either way, Jen’s body and career are both still red hot. Who needs Brad, right?

Cate Blanchett
Ageless Aussie Cate Blanchett is starring in Woody Allen’s latest drama, Blue Jasmine (released July 26th), and the blonde beauty reminds us exactly why we love her so much. Those eyes, those cheekbones, those lips. Her looks are only matched by a talent that is equal parts hypnotic and powerful. And Woody Allen is great too, we guess.
Sandra Bullock
In 2012, Sandra Bullock was named the world’s highest paid actress with $56 million earned that year proving that, at 49, Ms. Bullock is still a Hollywood force to be reckoned with. Catch her in theatres this summer in cop buddy-comedy, The Heat, where Sandy stars alongside Melissa McCarthy (who we are giving an official honourable mention on this list, FYI) which, honestly, looks like Miss Congeniality 3. Amazing, right?
Salma Hayek
Everybody’s favourite lovable Latina, Salma Hayek, is starring in the new Adam Sandler comedy Grown Ups 2, and while the movie itself doesn’t look that great, she does! Other than that time she grew a unibrow, we don’t think we’ve ever seen Salma look bad.

Helen Mirren
Reprising her role as classy and hilarious femme fatale Victoria alongside Bruce Willis in Red 2, Dame Helen Mirren is one of those women who continues to get more radiant with age. Anyone who has caught a paparazzo shot of Mirren on the beach knows she’s packing an amazing body under there, too. At 68, the one-time ‘Queen of England’ shows no signs of stopping any time soon… and we love it.
