Luxury men’s retailer Harry Rosen has announced a substantial investment of $50 million over the next five years to modernize its retail outlets and strategic approach. This initiative will entail the relocation of Harry Rosen’s flagship store to a sprawling 38,000-square-foot space. Promising an unparalleled luxury shopping experience in Yorkville, one of Canada’s prime retail destinations, as well as a comprehensive revamp of its existing retail concepts.
The decision marks a significant stride in the brand’s forward-thinking strategy following substantial investments in digital ventures over the past half-decade. Noteworthy accomplishments include the expansion of e-commerce into Harry Rosen’s primary sales avenue, the introduction of Herringbone, an in-store tool empowering style advisors to directly influence 10% of online transactions, the inauguration of an online outlet named FinalCut by Harry Rosen, and more. This latest phase of the strategy aims to advance the brand’s innovative offerings, catering to customer demands at the brick-and-mortar level.

The forthcoming three-story flagship establishment on Cumberland Street, adjacent to the Village of Yorkville Park and close to the current Bloor St. store, is slated for a spring 2026 debut. It will boast refreshed design elements and customer-centric experiences embodying the brand’s vision while paying homage to its 70-year heritage. The new space will incorporate cutting-edge men’s retail concepts and designer boutiques, a spacious patio overlooking the Village of Yorkville Park, a lavish client lounge with an espresso bar, and weekend valet parking, among other amenities.
“Since my father opened the Bloor St. doors in 1970, and our current flagship in 1987, Harry Rosen has developed such a deep connection to the Yorkville neighbourhood,” says Larry Rosen. “We are very excited to continue pushing our legacy forward by positioning our most important, innovative, and immersive flagship at the centre of the Canadian luxury and fashion space.”
The collaboration with KingSett Capital, a prominent Canadian private equity real estate firm, to realize this ambitious vision for the flagship store underscores the growing importance of delivering exceptional in-store experiences to bolster long-term brand and property value. KingSett holds the Cumberland Street building in its Canadian Real Estate Income Fund, and its CEO, Rob Kumer, expressed excitement about partnering with Harry Rosen, hailing it as an iconic Canadian brand.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Harry Rosen, an iconic Canadian brand, to help them realize an ambitious vision for their new flagship store in Yorkville,” says Rob Kumer, CEO of KingSett Capital. “This relocation repositions and enhances a core asset in the KingSett portfolio and highlights a growing trend in retail real estate, the importance of creating an extraordinary in-store customer experience to build long-term brand and property value.”

Beyond the flagship venture, Harry Rosen intends to revitalize its nationwide retail fleet to meet the evolving expectations of luxury consumers and provide novel experiences with each visit. Commencing with a renovation of its West Edmonton Mall location in 2024 and culminating in the opening of a new store in Vancouver’s Oakridge Park development (a second flagship location approximately 18,000 sq ft), all Harry Rosen stores will undergo comprehensive refurbishments over the next five years, featuring redesigned layouts optimized for customer engagement and interaction. The West Edmonton Mall, Oakridge Park, and new flagship store designs have been developed in strategic partnership with dkstudio architects inc., a Canadian-based design firm who were brought on to help the brand reimagine its store design and experience.

Both are central to how we plan to deliver excellence moving forward.”
The announcement marks a significant milestone for the retailer, which has been anchored at its Bloor St. flagship for the majority of its illustrious 70-year history. Founded by Harry Rosen himself, the brand has long been synonymous with personalized service and helping men discover their unique style—a legacy that Larry Rosen, his son, grandsons, and their team are committed to perpetuating.
