Toronto’s Bloor-Yorkville just got a fresh injection of fashion energy, thanks to the opening of MAYER—a new flagship boutique from renowned Canadian designer Ross Mayer.
Known for his decades-long career creating standout women’s wear, Ross Mayer has officially unveiled his new gallery-style retail space at 122 Cumberland Street. But this isn’t just another designer storefront. With MAYER, he’s merging his legacy in elevated tailoring with a bold, modern twist—offering everything from day-to-night essentials to custom creations for all genders.
Designed to reflect the boldness of the clothes it houses, MAYER is a love letter to fashion lovers who dress to express. And inside? The pieces speak for themselves.

The Space: Gallery meets glam
Stepping into the 1,000 sq. ft. boutique feels more like walking into a modern art space than a traditional retail store. White walls, golden accents, and sharp lines set the tone, while racks of vibrant hues, intricate details, and dramatic silhouettes command attention.
Whether you’re looking for a standout piece for your next big event or refreshing your everyday wardrobe, the space is built to inspire. The boutique offers inclusive sizing from XS to 3XL—underscoring Mayer’s commitment to making fashion accessible, empowering, and above all, fun.
What to shop at MAYER?

The collection is a mix of elevated daywear, cocktail-ready statements, and occasion styles that lean into Mayer’s signature blend of classic tailoring and fearless design.

From wide-legged trousers in rich jewel tones to sharply tailored jackets with flair, MAYER pieces feel fresh but timeless—and they’re made to move with you, not just hang in your closet. You’ll also find custom tailoring for weddings and special events, and yes, Ross Mayer’s couture bridal gowns are available to order in-store. Brides can even collaborate with Mayer to create a one-of-a-kind gown for their big day.

Why this boutique matters?
“Fashion has always been about storytelling for me,” says Ross Mayer, Founder and Creative Director. “With MAYER, I wanted to bring that same elevated design with a fresh, fun, and bold approach… Our boutique is more than a retail space; it’s a place where clients can discover pieces that truly express their individuality.”

The opening of the boutique marks a new chapter for the brand—one focused on deeper connection with the Canadian fashion community, direct-to-consumer retail, and expanding local manufacturing. It’s also a smart move amid global trade shifts: the brand recently pulled its manufacturing from Los Angeles for Summer 2025, refocusing production efforts in China, Portugal, and Canada.

The man behind it all: Ross Mayer

MAYER is a progressive Canadian fashion brand founded by Toronto-based designer Ross Mayer in 2018. Known for blending masculine and feminine elements, the label redefines classic menswear with bold colour, graphic prints, and its signature sparkle—creating a sleek, romantic elegance rooted in inclusivity and individuality.

With an emphasis on quality craftsmanship and timeless silhouettes, MAYER’s gender-fluid collections quickly gained international recognition. The brand’s standout sequinned bombers and joggers caught the attention of RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Ross Mathews, leading to an ongoing creative partnership. Their first capsule launched in 2022, introducing the now-iconic Sequin Sweatshirt. The collaboration continued in 2023 with Ross x Ross, a playful yet polished collection exploring statement glamour through pattern, print, and sparkle.
What’s next for MAYER?
This is just the beginning. Mayer is set to launch a formal women’s ready-to-wear collection for Fall/Winter 2025/26, a return to his roots in refined womenswear. And expansion plans are already in the works: a second boutique is slated for Montreal’s Royalmount Shopping Centre by 2027.

Since 2020, Ross Mayer has also been collaborating with RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Ross Mathews on seasonal capsule collections. These collections—featuring Mayer’s signature sparkle, bold colours, and glam patterns—often make their on-air debut before being released to the public.
The VIBE inside MAYER

Chic, confident, and undeniably expressive, the energy inside MAYER is contagious. It’s a space that invites you to play with fashion, to experiment with silhouettes, and to feel good in what you wear—no matter your gender, size, or style.
Ross Mayer isn’t just selling clothes. He’s curating moments, looks, and memories—one outfit at a time.
