Post-TIFF party bites are a September staple, and the city has plenty of offerings, no matter what neighbourhood, or time of night, it is. Whether you’re looking for classic diner food or a salad and soup situation, the city has tons of late-night bites that can be enjoyed after rubbing elbows with stars at festival events. Check out some of our favourite late-night eats below, that are available during the TIFF maddness.
The best places to get food to eat at all hours of the night, especially during TIFF
Because there’s nothing better than post-party grub.
Late-night eats open 24/7 (24-hours a day, 7 days a week):
Hero Certified Burgers (Yonge & King, 4:30am nightly; King & Bathurst 24/7; Church & Wellesley, 4:30am Wed-Sun)
The 79A Yonge Street location of this Canadian chain is open until 4:30 a.m., and the King West location is open 24/7, meaning scoring a quick and easy greasy burger post-TIFF event is a dream that is fully within reach. It’s right in the middle of all the action and is perfect for those who just want to grab a bite and bring it home without sitting in a restaurant and waiting. And, there are halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options to accommodate those with dietary restrictions and intolerances.

The Lakeview Restaurant (Open 24/7)
This historic eatery, which was built in 1932, offers 24-hour brunch and diner eats 24/7, again. Opt to dine in on some mega-stacked sandwiches or grab takeout at the adjoining storehouse. Dining in has its perks: the Lakeview has been featured in films like Hairspray, The Samaritan and Boondock Saints, among others.
Pho Pasteur
Another 24-hour spot, Pho Pasteur is a city-favourite for its affordable prices and heaping, extremely generous portions. It’s a cash-only spot, so be prepared to come with some bills and coins, though the pho is more than worth it. It’s located in Chinatown at 525 Dundas St. W., so it’s easy to get to when the party settles for the night.
Fran’s diners
Of course, Toronto’s most iconic diner has to be included on this list. Both its 200 Victoria St and its 20 College Street locations are open 24 hours, meaning you can snag some of the iconic menu items, from pancakes to the legendary Banquet Burger to steaks, at whatever time you want. Fran’s has been a Toronto staple since 1940, and something about visiting a citywide institution after Toronto’s most internationally renowned festival just feels right.
7 West Cafe
This Yorkville staple, aptly located at 7 Charles St. W., is open 24/7, 365 days a year. With over 30 years of business under their belts, the menu offers traditional diner fare like soups of the day, salads, pasta, pizza and sandwiches. Breakfast and brunch options are also available for those looking for the breakfast-for-dinner vibes.
