With the special occasion landing on February 10 and ushering in the Year of the Dragon, Toronto is hosting many celebrations. From bustling street festivals to cultural performances, there’s something for everyone across the city. Here’s where to celebrate Lunar New Year in Toronto:
Yorkdale Shopping Centre
The shopping destination will feature the city’s largest indoor dragon installation. Additionally, guests can walk through a passageway featuring golden archways and a stunning runway floor decal adorned with florals and dragons, until February 23. There are also various LNY activities on various days until February 17, like Chinese Printing, Chinese Traditional Quartet, and Dragon Dance.
Scarborough Town Centre (STC)
The centrepiece of the festivities at STC is the 15-foot dragon installation in Centre Court. You can also check out STC’s first-ever Lunar New Year MRKT from February 2-4. Lastly, there will be cultural performances on February 3 & 4, including a Traditional Lion Dance, martial arts performance, dance performances, and a dragon parade.

Bayview Village Shopping Centre
The mall is hosting a special event for the Year of the Dragon on February 11. There are going to be traditional Dragon and Lion dance performances (1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm & 4 pm), a Goh Ballet performance (3 pm), LNY photo booth (11 am-5 pm), and a God of Fortune appearance.
CF Toronto Eaton Centre
There’s going to be special entertainment on February 17 from 2 pm-3 pm with trilingual radio host Carmen Chan. You can expect dragon and lion dance performances, traditional eye dotting, green grabbing, and a new martial arts performance. There’s also CF Music feat. Mike Liu and Sophy Li on February 10 (2 pm-4 pm) and CF Music feat. Melody Wang on February 16 (4 pm-6 pm).
ROM After Dark: Lunar Love
The museum’s popular After Dark party series’ new session is happening on February 16 to celebrate both LNY and Valentine’s Day. There’ll be various performances and DJ sets, along with experiences like a Fiery Dragon Projection. Tickets can be booked online.
Lunar New Year Market
The Welcome Market has teamed up with Auntie’s Supply to host a Lunar New Year Market from February 2-4. It’s at 938 Queen Street West and the market is free to attend. There’ll also be a Queens of Dim Sum drag performance on the night of February 2.

Chinatown BIA
Dragon City Mall & Chinatown Centre are hosting various LNY festivities on February 10 & 11 from 11 am-5 pm. This includes a Mahjong King Competition, dance performances, a Chinese Orchestra, and different F&B booths.
Yee Hong Dragon Ball
This year is the 35th anniversary of Yee Hong’s flagship fundraising gala. It’s happening on February 10 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Tickets for the event can be purchased online through the website.
Holts Café
Enjoy a Lunar New Year Afternoon Tea experience at Holts Café Bloor Street until March 3. There are savouries like Crab Wonton, and Crystal Shrimp Dumpling, and sweeter items like Matcha Tiramisu, and Good Fortune Macaron. Reservations can be made online.
