According to a recent survey by Hershey Canada, 92 per cent of Canadians believe that Halloween will indeed look different this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. With the second wave of the novel virus now alive and well in parts of the country, this figure is likely even higher.

Longtime Halloween staple brand Hershey Canada is keeping the Halloween spirit alive with the Hershey Treat Quest, an innovative gamification of the traditional trick-or-treating experience.
Available at the end of September until Halloween, the digital game has players seek and find virtual Hershey candy like Reese, Oh Henry, Hershey Cookies & Cream, Twizzlers, and Jolly Rancher products. In a Treat Quest that combines the fun of the hunt for candy with the well-earned excitement of indulging in a bag full of treats, users can unlock Halloween-themed SnapChat lenses and win a Halloween Prize pack of sweet goodness from Hershey Canada.
Adding a charitable element, Hershey has partnered with Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada to create joyous, COVID-friendly experiences for children who need it the most. Hershey will leverage its partnership with SnapChat to enable the app’s users to unlock donations to Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada to do so.
Research reveals that SnapChat saw an increate in activity during the pandemic, particularly with highly elevated engagement in SnapGames, in terms of both frequency and duration. This isn’t the first time Hershey Canada has drawn upon SnapChat in its marketing initiatives. Treat Quest is an extension of Hershey Canada’s socially distant Easter Egg hunt that the brand did with a SnapChat lens for its Reese products.

In other gaming news from Hershey Canada, the brand’s new OH HENRY! LEVEL UP Bar – now available throughout the country – contains a code for an in-game boost reward for NBA® 2K21 inside the wrapper.
