It’s not every day that Louis Vuitton comes to Toronto to showcase their collection in a fashion show! On September 18, 2024, the brand presented the Women’s Fall-Winter 2024 Collection at none other than Roy Thomson Hall. This collection marks the 10-year anniversary of Nicolas Ghesquière’s reign as Louis Vuitton’s Artistic Director of Women’s Collections. The collection pays tribute to a decade of Ghesquière’s trailblazing designs and is their first runway show in Canada.
First debuted in Paris at the iconic Cour Carrée at the Louvre—Louis Vuitton’s go-to spot and the site of Nicolas Ghesquière’s first-ever LV show—the Fall-Winter 2024 collection is making a stylish comeback at Toronto’s very own Roy Thomson Hall. Designed in 1976 by Canadian architect Arthur Erickson, this downtown landmark is usually home to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, but for this event, it’s all about fashion. The runway took place under the hall’s stunning honeycombed glass canopy, where light sparkled like gems and danced through the curving corridors, blending the elegance of high fashion with Toronto’s vibrant urban scene.
Louis Vuitton has deep roots in Toronto, opening its first Canadian store back in 1983 on the iconic Bloor Street. Fast forward over 40 years, and that location is still the brand’s largest in the country! With 10 locations now across Canada, the Maison continues to expand—Montreal is getting a brand-new spot at Royalmount later this month. And the Toronto love doesn’t stop there! In October, Louis Vuitton will drop its first-ever City Guide Toronto, available in print and on the City Guide app, highlighting the city’s importance to the brand. This follows the recent buzz of their reimagined store at Vancouver’s Fairmont Hotel, which opened in December 2023.
