It’s no secret that climate change is a very real issue that threatens our populations and societies. Because it’s a huge undertaking, people everywhere are often wondering what they can do and how to contribute. Even small actions like switching to sustainable products, conserving water, and being mindful of certain habits can have a major impact. One brand that’s jumped in and made a splash is the skincare brand La Mer. Known for pioneering the use of sea kelp and bio-fermentation, La Mer is encouraging people everywhere to do their part, no matter where they live, in helping keep our oceans safe and protected.
La Mer has just recently launched the Limited-Edition Blue Heart Crème de la Mer, their annual celebration of the sea.

The description on the site reads, “This year’s Limited-Edition Blue Heart Crème de la Mer is an artful, collectible tribute to the ocean’s power—the same force that inspires our iconic formula. Inside the Limited-Edition Blue Heart Crème de la Mer lives the same combination of sea-inspired ingredients that gives every batch of Crème its iconic skin-soothing abilities.”
La Mer believes that the ocean’s well-being is our well-being and that’s why the brand is committed to helping protect marine habitats across the globe, in hopes to ensure future flourishing seas for generations to come. This led to the launch of the La Mer Blue Heart Foundation which helps support ocean conservation efforts around the world.

So far, La Mer has aided in coastal restoration projects in the Caribbean through The Nature Conservatory where 400,000 mangroves were planted in the Dominican Republic, protecting against coastal erosion and the impacts of climate change. Additionally, the EarthEcho’s OceanEcho 30×30 initiative that La Mer’s Blue Heart Foundation helps support is aiming to create a global youth movement in hopes to protect 30% of our oceans by 2030. The fund also supports conservation efforts in The Azores, Grenada, and the East China Sea.
