If you’re only getting into vaping, a vape starter kit is a perfect choice for you. Compared to other vaping devices, vape kits have everything you need. Most sellers even add a free bottle of e-juice for beginners.
Starter kits for vaping are very user-friendly. They have built-in tanks and batteries. This eases the users into vaping without overloading them with what they should do or get.

There are many styles of vape kits. Whether you are looking for great aesthetic or function, there is always one that’s available for you. What you’ll often see as beginner vape kits are AIO (all-in-one) pens or e-cigs.
When you are more settled into the vaping lifestyle, you can start getting into different vaping devices. From vape pens to box mods, you’ll have more vaping devices to choose from. You can even customize your own mods if you wanted.
2. Beginner Vape Kits and Devices
Choosing thing right vaporizer for beginners can be tricky. Factors like budget, aesthetic, and preferred performance affect your decision-making. Below, we’ll tackle some of the simple devices you can use to begin your vaping journey.
Closed Pod System
A closed pod system is a small and light e-cigarette that’s perfect for beginners. It has two main components: the rechargeable battery and the disposable pod. This is a more advanced vaping device and it has more modern hardware.
You often find the rechargeable battery at one end. At the end of it, you plug to a USB connector. It will also have a light at the end to show how much battery it has left while you are inhaling from it.

The disposable pod has e-liquid and the heating element inside it. Once you run out of e-liquid, you can replace it with a new pod. You inhale at the end where you insert the pod.
For beginners, this is one of the easiest to use. You don’t need to press any buttons to vape or turn the device on/off. You don’t need to worry about coil maintenance as it is in the disposable pod.
Cig-A-Like
One of the best vapes for beginners doesn’t look too different from a cigarette. A cig-a-like is very much like the closed pod system. It has the same two parts and does not need coil maintenance.

The part of the cig-a-like that looks like the cigarette filter operates as the pod. The white area is the rechargeable battery. It also has an LED light at the end that will display how much battery life remains.
Benefits of the cig-a-like and the closed pod system include inexpensive prices, portability, and wide availability. They also look more acceptable in other places since they are not as intimidating as bigger mods. Due to their size, they have limited battery life and limited vapor production.
Vape Pens
Vape pens are popular on the market due to how easy they are to use. The typical system is all-in-one, giving the user little to no maintenance jobs. All you need to do is to recharge and refill.

They are bigger and bulkier than the mentioned e-cigarette types. When you run out of juice, all you need to do is to refill the tank. You’ll know you need to refill the tank since they often have a minimum fill line.
Over time, gunk will gather in the coils. Some vape pens have refillable and disposable tanks. Others have separate refillable tanks and disposable coils.
Since they are larger, the batter can last 4 to 6 times longer too. Compared to the closed pod system and cig-a-like, they can be cheaper in the long term. You don’t have to keep buying disposable pods.

3. Coils
Coils a crucial part of vape devices. They connect to the batteries, heat up, and helps in vaporizing the e-liquid. You can find them in atomizers, which you find in the tanks.
When you vape for the first time, you may notice that the flavor and vapor amount is lessening. This often happens after a week of use or so. This means you need to change your coil.

For closed pod systems and cig-a-likes, you don’t need to worry about coil maintenance. The coils for those devices are part of the disposable pods already. It’s a different story with vape pens or e-pens.
For vape pens, depending on your device, you may need to replace coils. Replaceable coils are available for most vape pens. For the devices that don’t have replaceable coils, you may have to replace the entire tank.
4. Vape Juices: VG and PG
There are two e-liquids that define your vaping experiences: VG and PG. Depending on what you want to do when you vape, you choose between one or a mixture of both.
PG or propylene glycol is the choice for anybody who wants a strong throat hit. PG e-juice has a stronger flavor than VG. The PG compound in the e-juice makes it a great carrier of nicotine and all kinds of flavors.

This e-liquid’s consistency is thin and runny. PG e-liquid builds up less gunk around your coils. This makes coils last longer.
Note that PG e-liquid will not create as much vapor as VG. Also, PG may cause allergic reactions. If you experience strange symptoms after vaping PG e-liquid, you may need to shift to using VG.
Are you vaping for the sick cloud-chasing tricks? Get e-liquid with VG or vegetable glycerin as its main ingredient. People who want to get into doing vape tricks use VG e-liquid.

On its own, vegetable glycerin is sweet. When VG gets processed for e-liquid, the sweetness gets dulled down. The throat hit will not be as strong but you get to create a lot of thick clouds.
Also, VG e-liquid has a thicker consistency. This type of e-juice also builds up more gunk. You may have to replace your coils more often.
You can also opt to get a mixture of both VG and PG e-juices. A 70/30 VG/PG mix will allow you to do some tricks while also giving you a decent throat hit. Get a 60/40 VG/PG for even more flavor.

You can get VG/PG blends from vape shops. You can also do a little bit of experimenting yourself. Remember, you won’t lose anything when you ask for professional advice.
5. Vaping Etiquette
Did you know around one in twenty American adults use e-cigarettes and vapes? That makes up around 10.8 million adults in the US, more than half of which are still under 35 years old. When you vape, make sure you don’t affect anybody else.
Here is a tip for people who vape: treat e-cigarettes like cigarettes. Follow non-smoking or non-vaping rules. Ask if you are unsure if it’s allowed to vape inside an establishment.

Don’t vape in enclosed spaces. The vapor from your vape kit can be unwelcome in closed public spaces. These include movie theaters, restaurants, and offices.
There are no developed laws on vaping on public transport and still, vape users avoid doing it to be polite to others. There are places and areas that allow vaping. Other establishments have areas made for smoking and vaping.
When children are present, avoid vaping around them. The clouds don’t pose the same health risks and many health risks are still unknown. Other people also consider vaping as a bad example for children.

If you have pets, you must keep them away from your e-liquids. Some components in e-liquids like nicotine are poisonous to pets. Vapor from PG is harmful to cats so make sure you do it away from your feline friends.
