Welcome to Wine Fest Toronto 2022! On Friday, July 8th and Saturday, July 9th you will have the chance to attend a wine event like no other in the city!
An annual two-day tasting event, #WineFestTO celebrates the city’s buzzing wine culture with a chance to try wines from all across the globe. This long-anticipated tasting event will take place at Rendezviews “Toronto’s most epic patio ever” near Richmond Street West and John Street in downtown Toronto.
Over the weekend, thousands of wine enthusiasts will head to the city’s largest outdoor patio, RendezViews to open their liquid passports and taste more than 100 wines from all over the world from regions like California, Chile, Argentina, South Africa, Niagara-on-the-Lake and Europe. Having been to hundreds of wine tasting events around the globe, I’ve decided to put together a ‘Tasting Guide’ to help you sort through the confusion and have a memorable experience at this year’s festival.
Plan Your Full Travel Route
First things first, check-in at the Aeroplan entry booth once you arrive. Pick up your glass and your tasting passport and get ready for a global wine adventure. With over 100 wines to taste you’ll need to plan your path and stay focused. Depending on how many regions and wines you’d like to taste, you can design your route based on what region you want to discover first. Aeroplan Members can enter for a chance to win 100,000 points at the event! Redeem for flights, gift cards, travel and more. Not a member? Join For Free Today Here.
Get into the Golden State Of Mind
Start your festival experience with a tasting in California Wine Country. Discover and sample the wines from the Golden State as California Wines is the 2022 presenting wine region sponsor showcasing a diverse selection of more than 40 wines. As a leader in sustainability, California has so much information to share and will have an on-site sustainability exhibit for you to explore. Learn about California’s commitment to sustainable wine growing by experiencing a walk-through educational activation that tells the story of California’s dedication to the environment. Be sure to also follow California Wines Canada on Instagram for more education and to be a part of their west coast wine-loving community.
Bring Your Wine Etiquette
When it comes to tasting wine, always follow The Five Easy Steps to Tasting Wine: Sight, Swirl, Smell, Sip and Savour. With so many wines for you to taste you can explore taste profiles, enlighten your wine education and venture into new wine styles and regions. With sample pours you can always finish what is in your glass or dispose of it in the spittoon available. If you love to share your sentiments with others, you will have a great time swapping critiques with your friends and making notes in your wine passport. Always remember wine is just like art or music, you’re allowed to have preferences. Sometimes a wine just might not be your style, but remember to always show respect to the winery present. Just because it’s not your style doesn’t mean it’s not right for someone else.

Shop your Favourite Wines
This year’s festival will also have an integrated partnership with the LCBO and Aeroplan. Attendees can purchase the wines tasted at the event directly from their phones using the Wine Fest bottle shop on LCBO.com. These wines can be delivered to your home or wine lovers can use the same-day pickup LCBO option. Shoppers can earn 1 Aeroplan point for every $4 spent plus bonus points on eligible products through the online bottle shop or in LCBO stores.
Cleanse the Palate, Make Dinner Plans and Share on Social Media!
Remember to stay hydrated, sip slowly and consciously and share your memories on social media. The best companion to wine is food, and we are lucky to have award-winning Chef Nuit from Rendezvous East serving up a selection of best hits from her popular Selva and Pai menus. RendezViews West by The Ballroom will serve up fan favourites including pizzas, salads, and shareable snacks!
