Opting for a bold red lipstick during the holidays is the obvious colour choice of the season for your pout. Whether it’s a hot shade of ruby or a vivid orange-red, it still looks great with winter skin tones and it’s also one of the two main festive colours of the season. So what about green? Why do we shy away from rocking green lipstick when clearly it’s the more subtle colour of the two and should be totally wearable?
Dolce & Gabbana is banking on the idea that we won’t dismiss the power of green this year. The fashion house’s new limited edition Sicilian Jewels collection features four cream lipsticks in jewel tones: topaz, emerald, amethyst, and ruby, and each lipstick has a matching nail polish. Although you can make green lipstick look ultra feminine by wearing it with a soft gold eye shadow and a lip gloss, we recommend going new wave goth with it. Black lipstick can look so dated; a hot green lipstick looks refreshingly mysterious, especially when paired with seemingly bare skin (not tanned) with just black eye liner and mascara.

Although Dolce & Gabbana designed the Sicilian Jewels with the idea that customers could mix the colours, the green espectially isarguably more interesting and sexy on its own. Besides, all the other girls will be wearing red. Paint the town green instead.
