What does summertime mean to you? In my book it’s warm nights filled with happy people, tasty drinks, BBQing and waterfront fun. Il Fornello certainly agrees and celebrated by hosting a fabulous summer social that brought foodies and fashionistas together on July 7th. Their famous red and white sangria was flowing as were the Bellinis and wine. The food was not lacking and surprisingly delicious – all thanks to their new chef Ryan Kowalyk. Hors D’Oeuvres included Beef Carpaccio on Parsnip Chip, Fried Zucchini Flowers, Various Wood Oven Pizzas and a buffet table that had an abundance of grilled vegetables, seafood, meats and cheeses.
A lovely added touch were the oysters and smoked haddock crostinis supplied by Hooked in Leslieville. All this yumminess set on Queen’s Quay with the most amazing view of the waterfront – not bad.
I was also delighted by the guest list meeting some of my favourite tweeters and foodies!
