Just days after reports surfaced that Kyle Lowry would be leaving the Raptors, he posted a heart-warming farewell to The 6ix on Instagram. Leaving to join the Miami Heat in a sign-and-trade deal, this Raptors franchise icon has said his final good-bye to our beautiful city.
In this post, Lowry takes the time to appreciate his time as a Toronto Raptor. Lowry, like all players, has experienced the highs and the lows of the game during his time in The 6ix. He will be remembered as not just the face of the franchise, but go down in history as one of the greatest Raptors of all time.

Kyle Lowry’s Farewell
In this emotional Instagram post, Lowry takes time to reflect on his nine year in Toronto. Expressing, “this is hard to write, but the time has come for the next chapter in my story to begin,” he wrote in a late-night Thursday post.
The star guard shared his gratitude for of his teammates, coach Nick Nurse, and of course the Raptors fans. Lowry’s deep connection and love for the city of Toronto will always remain.
“The bond I share with you is unbreakable. There’s so many things I want to say about the city of Toronto,” he said, expressing his appreciation for the fans’ excitement, enthusiasm and support all season.

Aside from posing with the Larry O’Brien trophy and Slam Magazine cover. Lowry shared many photos of his highlights in Toronto in the post. Thanking everyone from team president Masai Ujiri to global ambassador/hip-hop star Drake.
“Toronto you are in good hands with Pascal (Siakam), OG (Anunoby), and Freddie (VanVleet), my little brother,” Lowry wrote in lengthy Instagram post. “Y’all already built the foundation and will continue to grow. I love y’all!
Although this is bittersweet moment for Torontonians, we could not be more thankful for Kyle Lowry dedication and loyalty. Leading Raptors to an NBA championship in 2019, Lowry leaves Toronto as the franchise’s all-time leader in steals, assists, three-pointers and triple doubles.
To sum up his post Lowry wrote, “I’ve legit gave blood, sweat, tears and everything I’ve could! Thank you Toronto, thank you Canada, this will forever be HOME!!!”
