From fighting evil villains on screen to playing basketball games in the real world, Simu Liu knows how to do it all. The actor is partnering with the Canadian Chinese Youth Athletic Association (CCYAA) to help raise money for the Jeremy Lin Foundation and a new community centre. Liu will be hosting a celebrity basketball game in Toronto at the University of Toronto’s Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport.
The CCYAA Celebrity Classic in Toronto
Over 20 celebrities, athletes, and personalities from the North American Asian community will be coming together for the event. And the first celebrity guest to have joined? None other than former Raptor, Jeremy Lin himself! The full list hasn’t been announced yet. As for the game itself, it’ll be taking place on July 9.

The CCYAA Celebrity Classic, which was launched back in 2019, is making a comeback after a three-year hiatus. “This year, we’re celebrating Asian Americans and Canadians who have broken barriers and achieved success in Hollywood, pro sports, music, comedy and food,” Liu said in a press release.
