iHalo Krunch High Park
Brace yourselves folks because a new iHalo Krunch location is coming to the High Park neighbourhood. Known for its delicious black charcoal cones, the shop is opening its doors on May 15 and is offering the same selection as its flagship Queen Street location. In addition to this new shop, iHalo currently has more locations in the works on the Danforth, and in Oshawa.
Tenon Vegan Sushi
Finally, vegan sushi that won’t taste, well, vegan. Tenon Vegan Sushi is here and it’s perfect for those leading a plant-based lifestyle and meat-eaters looking to cut back. You can find a completely vegan menu of sushi rolls as well as Thai appetizers and dishes like green mango salad. Even though meat isn’t on the menu, don’t expect it to be all greens and tofu. The restaurant uses proteins that mimic chicken, beef, and even duck so you’ll hardly even notice that it’s vegan! Toronto openings and closings are lucky to be blessed with this place.

Craving some tasty BBQ? Enter brand new Backyard Smokehouse. Located on Dupont, this is TO’s newest go-to spot for juicy burgers, brisket, smoked chicken and ribs, as well as towering meat platters. Don’t forget the sides either because they’re too good to resist, either!
Mr. Fish
Say hello to this new chain that’s just opened from China. Mr. Fish is serving up sauerkraut fish stews which are a traditional Szechuan dish that comes in a number of different variations. Located on Yonge Street just south of Finch in North York, this spot is a fave among many and the reviews truly speak for themselves.
Tacos Gus on Queen

For the second time in a year, Tacos Gus is opening another location and this time it’s in the Parkdale area of Toronto. The taqueria has quickly become a go-to of many and at this new spot, you’ll be able to find all your faves.
Farm Boy Queens Quay
Farm Boy has finally expanded to the waterfront. The newest location is now open at Queens Quay and York Street. The store opened its doors at the beginning of the month and it marks the company’s 38th new location. The giant 19,000 square-foot space offers the same high-quality produce, meats, cheeses, and tasty snacks as all of its stores so when you’re doing your weekly grocery shop, you might want to venture down here to check it out!

Drake General Store
It’s officially the end of an era because Drake General Store has sadly shuttered its flagship location on Queen West. While it’s unfortunate news, the brand still maintains an online presence so you can shop its selection of charming gifts and Canadiana online!
Innisfree

After expanding into Canada just a couple of years ago, Korean skincare brand Innisfree has just announced its shuttering all of its operations here in Canada. The company shared the news and is citing the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Benihana
Toronto’s location of the world-famous Benihana has closed its doors after a whopping 48 years. The restaurant was located inside the Royal York Hotel and was truly a TO institution. This was Canada’s only Benihana restaurant and it will be missed.
