No matter how you prefer your coffee, the conversation about it can get intense. After all, Canadians have a deep love for coffee, and we’re fortunate that Toronto offers a wide array of options no matter where you live. Some choices are even classic, like grabbing a coffee from McDonald’s on your way to work. Now, McCafé is stirring up excitement with its latest offering: a new line of Espresso Coffee Capsules. The best part? These capsules are compostable through a program with TerraCycle.
McCafé Espresso Coffee Capsules
“With the launch of the new commercially compostable Espresso Coffee Capsules, McCafé continues to raise the bar in the Canadian coffee market. We are delighted to introduce the delicious taste and quality of McCafé coffee to a broader group of Canadians through an innovative format compatible with Nespresso® Original Coffee Machines,” Jeff Kroll, Chief Strategy Officer and SVP at McDonald’s Canada said in a press release statement.
The capsules are available in different layers of intensities. This includes the light roast (caramel notes), medium roast (chocolate and hazelnut notes), and dark roast (dark chocolate and roasted almond notes).
The new Espresso Coffee Capsules are commercially compostable, and their packaging is recyclable through the McCafé Free Composting & Recycling Program powered by TerraCycle. To participate, all you have to do is sign up for a free TerraCycle account and print a shipping label to mail in your used capsules and packaging.
You can find the new McCafé Espresso Coffee Capsules for purchase at participating retailers all across Canada. So if you get the capsules, remember that you can send the used pods back to be composted by TerraCycle. This way you get to enjoy the coffee while also helping to reduce waste and be eco-friendly.
