In celebration of International Women’s Day this year, Mercedes Benz Canada has partnered with Pink Tartan for the launch of their She’s Mercedes Power Suit Project. This collection was designed in collaboration with 3 outstanding Canadian women; singer Mitsou Gélinas, The Social host Melissa Grelo, and Supermodel/TV personality Stacey McKenzie. The ’80s-inspired bold and confident look that a power suit brings to a woman is making a comeback in 2021 and we could not be happier.
The new project is a part of the global She’s Mercedes platform which was created to connect, inspire and celebrate women from all cultural backgrounds and experiences. Kimberley Newport-Mimram, the Pink Tartan designer selected for this project, collaborated with each of the 3 muses to design unique looks that would represent each one individually. The She’s Mercedes Power Suit Project aims to showcase the different and exciting ways that women choose to express themselves.
says designer Kimberly Newport-Mimram. “The She’s Mercedes Power Suit Project allowed me to tap into that passion while creating three suits that reflect each of these women’s individual perspectives, power, and confidence. I’m excited to share this purposeful collection and proud that a percentage of sales is being donated to the Dress for Success Canada Foundation.”

Gélinas, Grelo and McKenzie were photographed in their custom suits by Canadian photographer Caitlin Cronenberg. In keeping with the theme of women supporting women, each was also photographed gifting their suit to an important woman in their life. The full photo series can be viewed at Mercedes-benz.ca/powersuit.
“The goal of the She’s Mercedes platform is to connect and inspire successful women,” says Virginie Aubert, Vice President of Marketing at Mercedes-Benz Canada. “We are truly humbled by the incredible Canadian women who have contributed to this initiative and are excited to now share the collection—as well as the campaign—with Canadians.”
The collection is available for purchase online beginning today, March 8th, this glorious day of celebrating women. A portion of all proceeds will go towards the Dress for Success Canada foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting low-income women as they search for jobs by providing them with clothing to make a good impression.
