Another year has passed and as I look back at 2012 I am both happy and proud to see the support View the Vibe has received from all its fans. January 24th will mark our 2-year anniversary and I can’t believe how quickly the time has passed! This year I am lucky to be surrounded by amazing friends and family who have supported me in my labour of love. I am also (over) excited to be celebrating my first Christmas with my best friend, boyfriend and biggest supporter in our new home… you should see all the presents under our tree! Reminds me of when I was a child…
Don’t we all love to reminisce back to those times? When I think back to my childhood, I remember my mom getting up very early on Dec. 24th to start making her “buche de Noel” which would take hours to put together: 24 eggs, 4 baking trays, and an obscene amount of butter later, the first slices of this culinary Christmas delight were cut at midnight with friends and family. Then it was time for me to go to bed so I could wake up extra early to open presents. My parents were so generous; I was a lucky little girl. More than presents, I also loved helping my mom in the kitchen — we would make sooooo much food! Everything from escargots to quiche Lorraine to roast beef with Madeira sauce to all the sweet treats that would make us extra plump for January. I have to say, it’s been a long time since I’ve celebrated Christmas this way… traveling and working in restaurants doesn’t condone this type of Christmas celebration. So this year, I am doing Christmas full on: baked goods, roast beef, escargots; making it all!
I hope you are doing the same and on that note, I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and thank you for all your support in helping View the Vibe grow. Seeing the growth we experienced in 2012 and everything that is coming up in 2013 is truly the best present I could receive.
