Did that upgrade to Tinder Plus disappoint you? Don’t want to meet your future husband at a bar? We feel you, and we’ve got the perfect solution: the Metro at Liberty Village is proud to host its first-ever singles mixer.
Yes, you heard right. A grocery store. On May 28 from 7 to 10 p.m, singles are invited to tie a red ribbon on their basket to show that they’re looking to mingle. What better way to get a sense of compatibility than by comparing groceries?

The event is being hosted by Toronto’s resident Carrie Bradshaw, AKA romance and relationship expert Jen Kirsch. “The way that people meet and get to know one another has completely shifted since the introduction of dating apps,” she explains. “What hasn’t changed is the importance of geography and physical proximity when it comes to meeting people. We are where we live, and in many ways the grocery store is the heart of a community. Why not come try something new and see who else is single in the area?”
Metro will remain open to the public as DJ LIKILEAKS spins tunes while customers try to fall in love the old fashioned way.
