While it seems we may have watched just about every series and film under the sun this past year spent inside, our favourite streaming services have, fortunately, been adding constant new content to their repertoire. Sometimes all you want to do is curl up on the couch in a cozy blanket and watch a good movie or binge your favourite show. Thankfully the people over at Netflix, Crave, BritBox, and Disney+ know just how we’re feeling. April has not been a disappointing month for new releases, just check some of them out below! Netflix

While there are many contenders for best streaming service providers, who doesn’t like a little classic Netflix and chillin’? We’ve seen some awesome new releases come out on Netflix Canada recently like Operation Varsity Blues: The College Admissions Scandal. This doc is comprised of reenactments of the investigation of the mastermind behind a scam to sneak the kids of rich and famous families into top universities in the US.
If you’re a fan of NASCAR you’ll be pleased to know that season 3 of Formula1:Drive To Survive has been added to Netflix. Other recent additions to the site include Country Comfort– the story of a young country singer finding the band she’s been missing when she takes a job as a nanny for a musically talented family and The Lost Pirate Kingdom– the new documentary about real-life pirates of the Caribbean.

Crave

We have good news if you’ve been as obsessed with The Handmaid’s Tale as we have! Season 4 is set to premiere on April 28 as Crave releases 2 of the 10 episodes.
On April 21 Crave will be celebrating National Canadian Film Day with the release of a number of Canadian films such as Eastern Promises, Blood Quantum, The Broken Hearts Gallery, Crave Original The Song of Names, Stardust, Rabid and more!
The final episode of Shameless also aired on Crave this past weekend after 11 seasons.

BritBox
BritBox is the go-to streaming service in North America for all things British. In exciting recent news, the service acquired the exclusive premiere rights to the much anticipated season 6 of Line Of Duty, which will launch on May 18. Season 6 of Line of Duty follows the actions of the 3 returning main detectives as they investigate the conduct of the guest lead Detective Chief Inspector Joanne Davidson (Kelly Macdonald) on an unsolved murder case whose suspicious conduct attracts the attention of the Anti-Corruption Unit. This show is the latest to join the ranks of BritBox’s other crime dramas including Bancroft, The Bay, and The Victim.

Disney+
New releases get put on Disney+ just about every week and April has not been disappointing! We’ve seen the release of the new series Feud: Bette and Joan– a story of the feud between actresses Joan Crawford (Jessica Lange) and Bette Davis (Susan Sarandon) grabbing public attention while they endure discrimination in Hollywood and also Nomadland, the film that follows a woman in her sixties who, after losing everything in the Great Recession, embarks on a journey through the American West, living as a van-dwelling modern-day nomad. Stop asking yourself what to watch on Disney+, watch Feud: Bette and Joan!
