TIFF is right around the corner, and it’s about to get wild! Festivities kicked off this week with the Annual NKPR Film Festival Countdown event. It was party’s 11th year and as always, all of the industry’s leaders and creators were brought together under one roof. Keeping with tradition, the party was hosted at Natasha Koifman’s (president of NKPR) private residence. The VIBE was amazing to mark the 15-day countdown to TIFF 2019 in Toronto.
The distinctive feature this year was their partnership with cannabis brands Wink Cannabis and Blissed, which further heightened the amazing experience. The after-effect of cannabis legalization in Canada could truly be felt at the event, with an option for responsible consumption aside from the typical cocktail drinks.
If the drinks and A-list crowd weren’t exciting enough, the food was constantly on the move too. The menu was filled with burgers from A&W Beyond Meat and McDonald’s, Makers Pizza and an entire table filled with nothing but candy goodness. In other words, it was totally an Instagrammable dessert table. Of course, guests also had an entire night of dancing to look forward to as well. All the tracks were lit and on point, courtesy of the epic DJ and his tunes.

There was plenty of visual elements and activations at the event, which certainly kept the guests entertained. Some of the elements included an interactive Blissed-branded bath photo moment with bubble décor, WINK rolling station with BUDtenders and Black film festival themed cocktails by Hound’s Vodka.
A lot of notable guests made an appearance too, such as: Chloe Wilde (etalk host), Rajen Ruparell (Canadian entrepreneur and founder of Endy) and wife Priya Ruparell, Matt Wilson (producer and actor) and wife Jacqueline Willson, Roxy Earle (Real Housewives of Toronto, and founder of #MySizeRox movement), Devo Brown (Radio and TV host), Shayne Stephens (Private Client Director for Canada, Louis XIII – Remy Martin, and Host of ET Canada’s Style Scout digital series), Steven Branco (editor-in-chief of Swagger Magazine and editorial director of View the VIBE), Nicole Servinis (former ET Canada producer, and new Live Eye Reporter for Breakfast Television Toronto), DJ Lissa Monet spinning, Ayman Hbeichi (Managing Director of AH Media), Jessica Fink (Marketing Director of St Joseph’s Media), Alicia McNamara (Corus Entertainment wardrobe stylist), and many more.
