Patio season is upon us, fair citizens of our bustling metropolis. The next few months are dedicated to that all-too-short a season we fancy, where booze and bronzed bods reign supreme and our culinary conquests are relegated to whether or not we can catch a few UV rays before dusk sets in. All this week, we’re running down our favourite spots to bask in the emboldened beauty of Mother Nature’s fine fruits, starting with our fave luxe lots to relax in style…
La Societe
This French bistro is one of the city’s finest examples of patio perfection. Sitting on a cafe chair while slurping back oysters and enjoying a glass of bubbly has never felt so civilized as when perched on La Societe’s sprawling Yorkville digs.
DEQ at The Ritz-Carlton
DEQ’s patio is sophisticated revery. In lieu of standard two-tops and plasticky furniture, here you’ll find pleasantly plush pillows to relax your derriere. Paired with a Moscow Mule from their top-notch cocktail list, DEQ’s deck is decidedly decadent.

Vertical
Overlooking the Financial District, Vertical’s splendid seats proffer a perfect view of the city’s movers, shakers, and tastemakers. Suits and ladies who lunch take to the spot during the warmer months to feel a sense of calm in an otherwise bustling ‘hood. We don’t blame ’em.
F’Amelia
You’ll feel as though you’re in a small Italian bodega when occupying a prime spot on F’Amelia’s patio. This Cabbagetown gem has pizzas for any palate, and they’re all the more, shall we say, palatable when sliced and savoured with the soft summer breeze on the nape of your neck.
One Restaurant
CEOs ink their midsummer deals here. Stunning starlets go OMG for the cocktails. And us regular folk are just happy to be sidled on up next to them at one of Yorkville’s hottest hotspots. One’s patio is a chic stalwart that replaces the contrition of winter’s web with outdoor opulence from May to September. Now who wouldn’t want to partake in that?
