It’s time to let ‘The Goodtimes’ roll!! Unless of course you live in Doug Ford’s Ontario. While in Canada we face stricter lockdowns than ever, our neighbours down south have thrown a star-studded grand opening party for Pharrell William’s new hotel venture; The Goodtimes Hotel. The Miami event was high-energy and action-packed, and we in Ontario were left to look on at the event, green with envy.

On Friday night, Pharrell Williams and his business partner, David Grutman of Groot Hospitality, invited Hollywood’s finest to their celebratory cocktail party. Guests of the exclusive event included Kim Kardashian, Victoria and David Beckham, Future, Maluma, Becky G and Rick Ross. Servers and wait staff catered to the event in custom Stan Smith’s adorned with The Goodtime’s praying figure logo. They were serving up Haig Club cocktails (David Beckham is a partner in the whiskey company), Grutman’s signature Purple Reign cocktail and amazing Mediterranean snacks. The deck’s pink and white candy-striped pools and gorgeous canopies set the stage for the soiree.
The Miami-Dade county has lifted pandemic-related restrictions, but the Goodtimes team still played it safe by following some of the former rules. The enviable event took place on the hotel’s 20,000 square foot pool deck called Strawberry Moon, capacity was capped at less than half of the venue’s total allowable number and guests were required to arrive with face coverings. Even with the guidelines, this was the type of party we in Ontario can only dream of…
