TIFF is right around the corner which means there’ll be celebrity appearances-a-plenty. One of which includes Pharrell Williams, who also has something special up his sleeve for Torontonians to get happy about.
I think we can all agree that the only thing better than a concert is a free concert. It also helps when said “free concert” is in your own back yard, which is exactly what Pharrell Williams plans to do this September.
The Happy singer recently announced that he will be playing a free concert in Toronto on September 10, 2016. The event will take place during TIFF in support of the 20th Century Fox film, Hidden Figures, which is co-produced by Williams. The film tells the story of three African American women working for NASA, who helped launch the astronaut, John Glenn into space.

Set to be released in January, select TIFF members will get to see an early preview of the film on the big screen, followed by a Q&A with stars Taraji P. Henson, Janelle Monae and Octavia Spencer.
Pharrell’s performance will get underway on Festival Street, aka the intersection of King and John, and will be open to TIFF members, as well as the general public.
