Say what you want, but when it comes to the web there’s one thing that ladies can’t seem to get enough of. It’s part Wikipedia-esque knowledge base, part virtual scrapbook, and 100 per cent productivity saboteur. This tool, in case you haven’t guessed, is Pinterest. Pinterest has women, and some men, everywhere channeling their inner (pre-prison) Martha Stewart. Whether it’s with a slightly generic motivational quote, outfit inspiration, or beauty tip, Pinterest is like a multi-faceted department store – you can generally find whatever you need.
With this in mind, I took the many pages of Pinterest and picked out some of the trends that seem to be dominating the beauty scene…
Lauren Conrad
It seems good old L.C. has come a long way since her days as a bronzed teen on Laguna Beach. Lauren is the unofficial patron saint of Pinterest (say that three times fast), with boards dedicated to her laid-back West Coast style. Her signature beach blonde waves and winged eye liner are central fixtures of the Pinterest beauty circuit.

Oxblood Nails
Fear not, oxblood has nothing to do with American Horror Story. It does, however, have everything to do with the sophisticated fall nail trend that is extremely prevalent on Pinterest. Oxblood is basically burgundy’s slightly more luxe, avant garde sibling. Pinterest seems to be painting the town oxblood with the wealth of posts dedicated to this in-demand shade.
Effortless Hair
This is probably because spending so much time on Pinterest does not leave much time for actual grooming. With the wet hair trend taking the fashion world by storm, Pinterest users seem to be following suit, and the site is awash with messy buns, loose waves and free-flowing curls.
