Recipe to Riches, Canada’s biggest culinary competition, is back! Moved from Food Network Canada, its original home, to CBC, the show has been responsible for turning home cooks into overnight successes. The competition-style reality series launches tonight (Wednesday, February 26th) at 9pm, straight after Dragon’s Den, and will air until the end of March.
With a total of six episodes and 15 competitors, each episode features a different food category with a weekly winner being selected as the finalist. The winners’ recipes will be available across the country as a President’s Choice® product, and they will receive $25,000. The final episode and series finale will involve a competition between all the weekly winners where the competitors will vie for the grand prize of $250,000.
Hosted once again by sexy actor and food-lover Carlo Rota, the competition has a great panel of judges as well, each offering a different expertise. Gail Simmons of Top Chef, Vikram Vij of Vij’s Restaurant in Vancouver, and Arlene Dickenson of Dragon’s Den all bring their proficiency to the table to ensure that the recipes are easily duplicated, delicious and easily marketed to the masses.
