As I sit here thinking about how to start this post, I am filled with excitement and pride. Last week Chef Scott of the Culinary Adventure Company and I hosted our very first Ride and Go Feast adventure, an event where we bring 24 food-lovers to four different restaurants on a bus. This culinary excursion is not only a blast, but we also give 100% of the profits to the Daily Bread Food Bank – and if you know me, you know how much I love this charity, which is how this whole idea came to be.
About 4 months after View the Vibe went live, I had wanted to do a charity event very similar to what Ride & Go Feast is – but on a larger scale. Two months later, I was invited by Chef Scott to experience his Little Italy Culinary Adventure tour. I hadn’t really heard of food tours until then but my instant reaction was, “Oh! That’s what I wanted to do for my charity event!” and told Cheffie all about it. One year later, he called me and said “let’s do this food bus tour but on a smaller scale and on a monthly basis.” I loved the idea and Ride and Go Feast was born.
Here’s how it works: every month we pick a theme and create a culinary tour for 24(ish) food lovers. We start off at the first location for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, then move to a 2nd spot for appetizers, 3rd place for main course and end somewhere for dessert. The restaurants we pick based on the theme of the month are kept secret and we keep people guessing on the bus. July 29th we had our first one, themed “Hogtown,” and it was a blast! Chef Scott is an outstanding host and ensures everyone is having fun – yes, he even got us singing! Check out the vlog to get an inside look at what our food tourists got to eat, drink and experience.

On August 26th, we will host the 2nd Ride And Go Feast themed, of course, TIFF. A little hint of what guests can expect? Our vehicle will be a little more posh for this particular edition…and we just may tell our guests to wear their best! Find out more about the Special TIFF Edition of Ride and Go Feast here.
Ongoing, tickets will range from $75.00 to $100.00 depending on the theme and restaurants we choose. I personally truly hope people support this monthly charity event – it’s fun, you get a ton of food and booze, and you’re giving back to the Daily Bread Food Bank. I mean, what better way to be a Good Samaritan?
Don’t forget to like Ride and Go Feast on Twitter, like it on Facebook, and come to the Special TIFF Edition. (We swear, it’ll be a chic time for all. Some bubbly…maybe?)
