Blind Item: The scandalous politician’s wife
Juice factor: 10/10
With an epic election about to take place, it’s rather strange that the Canadian media has been silent about the long-rumoured scandalous private life of a certain politician’s wife. It’s generally been the rule north of the border to be mum about what goes on in the bedrooms of our nation, but ever since Gawker and the Toronto Star had their heyday with all things Rob Ford, we can’t help but wonder if this age-old gossip mill topic is finally going to hit the front page this week…
Toronto Blue Jays play-off tickets are a pretty penny
Juice factor: 7/10
The deciding game between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Texas Rangers will go down on home turf tonight and a pair of tickets to the game will cost you multiple hundreds of dollars if you want to be there in the flesh to celebrate–or riot, depending on the outcome. Sure, the event’s sold-off for anyone who hasn’t figured out how to access Kijiji. Scalpers, beware. Word is that black market crackdown for Blue Jays tickets ain’t what it used to be (aka, non-existent).

Blind Item: Toronto power couple displaying their domestic woes?
Juice factor: 10/10
This Toronto power couple has made a name for themselves throwing some of the most exclusive invite-only bashes in town, heavily attended by some media scene heavyweights. Anyone who’s been to the couple’s pad lately has undoubtedly noticed new additions to the enviable penthouse—additions one half of the duo was once vehemently against; that is, until his darling started having eyes for other men. It seems the upper hand has shifted and so has the home decor.
Cara Delevingne is dating a waitress…
Juice factor: 8/10
Indie rocker St. Vincent was far away from the City of Love this weekend after setting the gossip mill afire with rumours she and girlfriend Cara Delevingne are engaged. When the supermodel wasn’t on the runway at Paris Fashion Week, she and her less famous other half sparkled on the exclusive scene in la Ville Lumière donning matching diamond rings on their engagement fingers. That’s why customers of new Dallas restaurant, Resident Taqueria, were shocked to find St. Vincent waiting tables in the Lone Star State just days later. As it turns out, she was just being a good sport by helping out a relative with the grand opening. We can see why Delevingne is so smitten.

Blind Item: Mary Jo Eustace hates being the “ex,” replaced by this Toronto society gal
Juice factor: 9/10
Last week at Café Boulud’s “who’s who” dinner to introduce the new restaurant to society big-wigs–think the likes of Hilary Weston–Dean McDermott’s ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace was clearly displeased to see her former BFF and his new bestie having a ball together at the exclusive party. When her one-time best friend forever excused himself to go to the washroom, Mary Jo took the opportunity to tell his new partner in crime she’s livid with the changing of the bestie guard. It was less of a whispered confession and more of a distastefully-audible accusation that was overheard by many of the guests. We guess Tori Spelling isn’t the only one she can throw some shade at. Exes and beaux rarely mix well, even platonic ones.
Khloe Kardashian throws back at Amy Schumer, calling her “bigger”
Juice factor: 8/10
Saturday Night Live is certainly trying to open with strong numbers this season, and having comedian du jour Amy Schumer host (even after the trainwreck that was Trainwreck–blame writer Judd Apatow for that) this past weekend was a killer move (we can’t say the same for upcoming early November host Donald Trump–shame on you, Lorne Michaels, shame on you). Schumer used part of her opening dialogue to rip into easy targets the Kardashians, but in her own unique Schumer way, referring to the tribe as, “A whole family who take the faces they were born with as a light suggestion.” Schumer went on to mourn the loss of Khloe, the most “real” of the clan, to the dark side. “We used to have Khloe. Khloe was ours, right?” she reminisced jokingly. “Whenever there’s a group of women, you identify with one of them…but then Khloe, she lost half her body weight. She lost a Kendall! We have nothing. I want good role models.”
Khloe responded on Twitter with a remark that can be read a couple ways: “No need 2 tear down others just 2 make urself feel bigger.” We’ll let you decide if she intended the double entendre. On Monday, Schumer settled the issue with a feel-good tweet, saying “I like the idea of sending women the message to be happy in their own skin. #peace.” You go, Amy.

Condé Nast tries to buy millennials’ love
Juice factor: 8/10
In an attempt to stay relevant and edgy, Conde Nast bought–get this–Pitchfork Media, the company that runs both the independent music website and quarterly magazine known best as just “Pitchfork” or “hipster douchebaggery,” depending on who you ask. If you ask us–and we’re just gonna assume you did–this is a lot like when FOX dug its claws into Vice Media (just barely, but still) except even more absurd, given the state of both the publishing and the music industry, respectively. Why doesn’t Walmart just buy all of Portland, Oregon while we’re at it. Heavyweights have a way of ruining all things indie in attempts to flex an authenticity muscle. Remember when Graydon Carter took over the Beatrice Inn? Is this like that but less sad because we actually went to the Beatrice? Please, tell us your thoughts…
